NEVILLE O’CONNOR

Dear Members

It is with great sadness that I must advise you that long-time club member Neville O’Connor passed away a few days ago. No other details are as yet available.

Neville, who was aged 89 had been a member for 27 years, a life member for the last three. He was also a member of Leicester Railwaysmens Club and Institute.

Older members will remember Nev bringing his eight year old grandson Joe into the club some 20 years ago to play snooker upstairs. Joe was something of a child prodigy at snooker. He is now a professional snooker player ranked in the top 40 in the world.

If and when further details are known including the arrangements and if the family agree, I will let you all know.

The flag is flying at half-mast.
