Club Annual General Meeting

The AGM is to be held on Monday 28th April 2025, commencing at 730pm. Details are on the Notice Board, but briefly:

• Paid up Members only, who should bring their Blue Membership Cards to gain admittance.
• Items for the Agenda must be in writing, received by the 16th April 2025.
• Any guests in the main room will be required to move to the Blue Room.
• Agenda will be circulated on Monday 21st April 2025.

Normally the AGM is held on the last Monday in March, but given the tight time schedules in producing the accounts, the committee has agreed to hold the AGM in April for this and future years. The Rules will be updated in due course.

Committee Vacancy

The Committee usually consists of five officers and eight committee men and women. The eight people on the committee are normally elected for a minimum of four years. Two stand down for re-election each April.

As we had no AGM in 2021 and the three committee members elected in 2017 are now either officers or have already resigned, no current committee member is due to stand down in 2025.

However, we do have one vacancy and invitations are invited from any Paid Up Member who joined the club prior to April 2023. You will need a Proposer and Seconder and forms are held behind the bar for anyone who would be interested in joining the committee. If you require further information regarding the responsibilities involved please speak to any current committee member.

Pool Table

We have agreed to operate a free Pool Table between opening time and 6pm every day of the week, with immediate effect.

Over the last six months, pool table usage has dropped with the knock on effect for our wet sales. Whilst we are not keen to introduce a “Happy Hour”, we are hopeful the free pool may kick start the table being used more frequently again.

Cambridge Trip – 14th May 2025

The trip is fast approaching and I would like to thank the 59 people who have paid for the trip. If the other 25 could do so in the next few days, that would be appreciated – Many thanks.
