Club Update

What’s On – as well as the weekly lunchtime Jazz session with “The Jazz Crew” (Thursday 12.30pm-2.30pm) and the Friday afternoons with “The Al Sansome Blues Band”, we have two acts on stage in the next seven days:

Thursday 26th June – “Richard Everitt featuring “Cool Jazz Trio” & “The Jazz Cats”

Richard is a regular visitor to the club and brings, as usual, two very talented line-up’s – complimentary cheese and biscuits, pork pie etc, will be available at the bar.

Tuesday 1st July – “Kenny Wilson”

Kenny returns for his usual first Tuesday of the month gig – please see attached poster.

GB Disability Blackball Pool Team

You may not be aware, but for the last two years, the club has sponsored the Great Britain Disability Blackball Team in their annual European Cup competition.

Managed and led by club member, Gary Walker, the team have just returned from France after a successful competition, doing well in the Singles and Doubles, but just missing out in the Team events, although made podium finishes.

I have attached two pictures of the team and would like to congratulate them on a great effort and performance. Some of you might recognise Gary, standing in the middle at the back.

The third picture features Roy Kimberley (on the left), the current World Wheelchair Blackball Champion, sporting the KCC logo on his shirt sleeve.

Gary spends a lot of time and effort trying to improve the opportunities for pool players with disabilities, both home and abroad and is always on the look out for any prospective sponsors – if any member is interested in this and would like to chat to Gary, please let me know and I will put you in touch.

Skegness Trip – Wednesday 6th August

This is fast approaching and I am glad to advise that just over half the tickets have now been paid for. However, I would be grateful if the remaining 40 members could pay within the next two weeks as Chris needs to settle up with Ausden Clark by mid July – many thanks.
