    Dear Members

This Friday coming, 25th July is the 12th and final draw for this year’s 120 Club.

I am really pleased to confirm that the Club has proved to be a great success, bringing welcome funds into the club and I would like to offer my heartfelt thanks to all those members who have participated over the last year.

The surplus funds generated have helped towards the payment of the massive electrical upgrade required. This followed the independent and largely adverse review of the entire electrics in the club, commissioned in November 2023.

I can provide financial details for 2024/25, which are as follows:

    1) Members contributions over the year: £7150

    2) Prize Money paid out: £3600

    3) Bank Charges: £190

    4) Surplus used to pay for the electrical upgrade: £3360

    140 Club

As some of you may be aware, next year marks 140 years since the club first opened. A sub-committee has been formed to organise six or seven events throughout 2026 and these will be publicized during the early part of 2026.

However, with the increasing membership seen over the last 12 months, we thought it would be appropriate to increase the club to 140 members to coincide with the anniversary, if this is possible.

    Procedure

    1) All existing 120 Club members will be automatically transferred to the new club UNLESS we receive notification that an individual existing member wants to leave. IF YOU ARE HAPPY TO CONTINUE – NO ACTION REQUIRED, OTHER THAN NEXT YEAR’S PAYMENT(S)

    2) We are inviting other members who would like to join the 140 Club; please just let me know by email or advise the bar team as soon as possible.

    3) Payment can be £5 per month; or £60 for the full year payable during early August 2025. (Full payment cuts down on the bank charges, but if monthly payment suits you that’s fine)

    4) All 140 Club members will be given a new ball number, which Matt Watters will arrange on his electronic roulette wheel app, one evening in early August in the main bar – date to be advised.

    5) Bank details:

    • Knighton & Clarendon Park Con Club 2A/C
    • Sorting Code: 601339
    • Account Number: 50701908

    6) Would members who want to exit the existing club and those who want to join the new club, please let me know by the end of July – thank you.

In closing, the club draw nights are good fun and the surplus funds are very helpful in meeting unexpected bills which occur from time to time.

    Best wishes

    Sharon Jones

    Secretary
