A fixture in Knighton and Clarendon Park for over 130 years

The Knighton and Clarendon Park Conservative Club was founded in 1886. As a result of the “rapidly increasing parish of Knighton” and having a “population of upwards of 2000 persons, of whom 499 are on the parliamentary register” the Conservative Hall was built in the same year in the new area known as Clarendon Park and is probably the only purpose-built building that has been in constant use for the same purpose in Clarendon Park, with the exception of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church (1885).

Due to boundary changes in the 1930s, the club and association no longer found themselves in the parish of Knighton. Since then, Clarendon Park has gone from strength to strength as a place to live, work, and socialise, and in recent times was placed in a national survey by a well-being brand as one of the top 50 “coolest” neighbourhoods to live in the UK.

The Knighton and Clarendon Park Conservative Club is proud to be part of such a vibrant neighbourhood and is happy that it offers an extra dimension to the social and leisure facilities in the area.
