2025 Subscriptions

Now we are in December, it’s time for the annual renewal of memberships.

We had planned to keep the annual subscription to £20 for the third year running, but 2024 has proven to be a very challenging year in terms of managing the finances. Since May we have had a 20% fall in income over the six month period coupled with at least 10 serious problems, which have arisen, concerning the building. The latter has involved an outlay over the year in the region of £30000 to rectify the various issues. This has used 60% of our savings, because the costs involved could not be funded out of cash flow.

With this in mind, the committee has agreed to increase the annual subscriptions to £25 per annum for both 2025 and 2026. We still believe this offers good value for money at around 50p per week. Life Membership to remain at £5. (To qualify for Life Membership you must have been a paid up member for 25 consecutive years – so if you joined at 18 years old, subject to no years missed, you would qualify for Life Membership at age 43 years)

Procedure

• You will find a large safe custody box on the table below the defibrillator just as you enter the main room, plus a box of small envelopes and biro’s.
• Please just place your Blue Club Card and cash payment in the envelope provided and pop it in the custody box. The box will be emptied each evening.
• Within seven days your updated Membership Card will be ready for collection behind the bar. (We will not be issuing Inter-Affiliation-Tickets this year unless requested)
• If you have lost your Membership Card, we will provide a new one, although this costs an additional £2.
• If you live away from the area, please post your Membership Card, plus cheque and we will return by post.
• Also, we still have a few members having to be “buzzed in” to the club. If you do not possess or have lost your door fob, please place an additional £6 in the envelope and we will issue a new one.

If possible could all memberships be renewed by 21st January 2025 to allow all booklets to be  updated by the end of January.
