    Hi everyone

140th Club Celebrations – First Event Friday 13th February.
The first night of celebration is almost upon us and features a Victorian Games Evening with reduced prices for drinks.
The poster with full details will be sent on Wednesday – please save the date!
    140 Club Draw
I am pleased to confirm the results of the monthly draw held last Friday evening:
    • 1st Prize £200 – Ball 40 Paul Lewitt
    • 2nd Prize £80 – Ball 84 Graham Taylor
    • 3rd Prize £40 – Ball 3 Judith Colver

Congratulations to the three winning members. Could Paul please contact me with bank details and I will arrange to pay the funds in.

Also thanks to Jessica Strutt for drawing the balls and Richard Orton for being our witness / scrutineer.
Next draw: Friday 27th February 2026
    Charity Lunch
Many thanks for all those who contributed to the charity lunch prior to the Al Sansome Blues Band afternoon last Friday.
I am really pleased to confirm that the sum of £137.40 was raised for the Army Benevolent Fund – a great effort – thank you.
    Snooker Room
Just to let you know that Steve Ptohopoulos has taken over as Manager of the upstairs Snooker Room. There have been some minor issues recently, mainly in communication re matches, cup matches and table cleaning.
To make matters run more smoothly, Steve will now be the point of contact for any questions and also in charge of the light key.
Whilst writing I must advise that on Monday the 9th February, two of our snooker teams will be at home on the same evening. We try to avoid this happening, but it means that all four tables will be in use for match purposes from 7pm onwards that evening.
    Six Nations
The competition starts this week and the club will be showing all matches. I believe all games are on terrestrial channels with ITV having secured the rights to show the England games.
Matches featuring England will always be shown in the main room, unless a gig or event is booked, but other nations’ matches may end up in the Blue Room, depending on whether any key football fixtures clash with the rugby. Please see attached poster for full details.
    Best wishes
    Sharon
