Fantasy Football League

George is keen to start up a Fantasy Football League and I have copied and pasted his email to the club:

“The football season is almost here and to get into the spirit we are running a fantasy football league ! 

£5 entry and depending on the amount of people entering we will either do a winner takes all or a big prize for the winner and smaller manager of the month awards !

Seems a very good idea and hopefully George will get plenty of interest in the Fantasy League.

 

120 Club

I am pleased to advise that 90 members have paid either the first month’s entry fee or paid the annual £60 in full – an absolutely brilliant effort – thank you. Three more members have confirmed they are in the process of setting up standing orders.

This just leaves 27 members remaining and I would ask if they could set up their standing orders / cash by close of play on Friday 16th August 2024. This would be very helpful – thank you.

 

Cromer

Just a quick thank you to the 100+ members and guests who made the trip to Cromer and hopefully had a really enjoyable day. The weather was kind and the journey there and back completed without any delays. In fact we arrived 20 minutes before most pubs were open!

It’s the first time that we have managed to get away promptly both in the morning and also on our return from Cromer – many thanks.

If any members have any photographs of the day they would like to share, I am sure our Newsletter editor, Andy Humpherson would be pleased to receive them.

 

Worcester – Victorian Christmas Fayre – Thursday 28th November 2024

I am pleased to confirm that the club has booked an 84 seater double decker coach to visit Worcester Christmas Market – we went last year and the general consensus from our members was that it was definitely worth a second visit.

Itinerary:

• Coach leaves the club 8.45am promptly (Arrives 08.35)
• Arrival in Worcester 10.30am (The fayre is not officially scheduled to open until noon, but arriving in good time will give us a chance to look around / have a coffee etc – and last year some stalls were open earlier)
• Back at the coach by 5.15pm for a prompt departure at 5.30pm.
• On our return, approximately 7.15pm, there will be a hot buffet available, along normal lines, with four options, including vegetarian.
• Cost £16 for members / £21 for guests

There is a list for names before the bar as usual. However, it would be very helpful if those wishing to go would pay Rebecca and her team in full when booking seats. Any member booking by email, would they please pop into the club to pay within a day or two later.
