Job Vacancy – Bar Staff

We have one position which has become available in the club bar team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person with good communication and organisational skills to work alongside our existing well managed team.

The role will involve three shifts per week, equating to 20 hours per week. Ideal if any one is looking for part-time work. Because of our licence requirements, any candidate must be aged 18 years or over. Whilst full training and formal induction programme will be provided , we are looking for someone with experience and knowledge of working behind a bar.

Not exhaustive, but bar duties will include:

• Mixing and serving alcoholic and soft drinks
• Serving snacks
• Ensuring bar cleanliness and hygiene
• Accurately taking payments
• Re-stocking the bar
• Ability to work alone on occasion

Over the last few years many new staff have been from members’ recommendations or word of mouth. If any member is interested in the position or can recommend somebody they know, could please advise me by email or call into the club and speak to any of the team or member of the committee. If CV’s can be provided that would greatly assist the selection process.

140 Club

I am pleased to advise that 118 members have paid either the full amount or opted for monthly payments. I know another half dozen members are paying by Direct debit due next week.

This leaves approximately 15/16 members still to pay. If they could do so as soon as possible, this would be helpful with the next draw on Friday 29th August – many thanks.

CCTV 

CCTV is now installed, with two cameras situated in the snooker room and one in the entrance hall. A fourth camera is due to be installed by the back door / yard in the next day or two.

Cash Advances

With over 90% of bar purchases now made via card payment, the club is no longer in  a position to offer “Cash Back”. We did run out of cash last week!

Fortunately, there is an ATM across the road at the old NatWest premises and another ATM at Sainsbury’s.

York Trip

Many thanks for the swift response with 73 seats (out of 84) already booked. If payments could be made before, say the end of September, that would be helpful.
