    Good afternoon everyone

    Committee Election – Voting Nights 24th / 25th March 2026
Every year, two members of the committee step down, and this year, the two committee members in question are Karen Mallard and Matthew Watters. However, both have opted to stand again for re-election.
Following the invitation posted on 23rd February inviting applications from members with more than two years’ membership to apply, Andrew Smith has put his name down and been nominated by the required two members to stand against Karen and Matthew.
A vote is therefore required, and this will take place over two nights, Tuesday 24th March and Wednesday 25th March, between 6.30 pm and 8.30 pm. There are two places on the committee available, which means that one candidate will miss out.
    How It Works:
    • Two scrutineers will be appointed who will manage both nights and will be situated in the Pool Room area.
    • They will have a register of current paid-up members, voting slips and a register to record all members’ voting. The Ballot Box will be situated near the window on Clarendon Park Road.
    • Please turn up between the allotted hours with your Blue Membership card, which will be marked with a small red “V”, once you have been given a voting slip. If you cannot locate your membership booklet, do not worry, you will still be able to vote, on condition that you are a paid-up member for 2026.
    • You can vote for one or two candidates. Anyone voting for all three candidates or drawing on the voting slip, etc., will result in a “Spoilt” vote and not count.
    • Just place your voting slip in the Ballot Box and job done!
    • If any assistance is required on the night, the scrutineers will be able to help.
Please see attached Nominations Sheet with full details of candidates, proposers and seconders.
In recent years turn-out has been dropping, down to 11% last year. These elections are important, and I hope as many members as possible will use their vote.
    Many thanks.
    Sharon Jones
